Vtg 1940s Pastoud Limoges Porcelain Lady Portrait Brooch Duchess of Devonshire

This stunner of a porcelain brooch features an image of Georgiana cavendish (born Spencer), Duchess of Devonshire, from a portrait by English artist Thomas Gainsborough, painted in about 1785. The image was printed on porcelain by French decorating house, P. Pastoud, in Limoges, circa 1940. The brooch, in a gold-tone frame, features a trombone style safety clasp that was used through the 1940s, primarily in European jewelry. It measures 1.75 inches in diameter. No damage noted.
