Vintage 1940s Art Deco Early Coro Gold Tone Emerald Cut Amethyst Glass Brooch
Circa 1940s, Art Deco. Underside of brooch is stamped “Coro”. American jewelers Emanuel Cohn and Carl Rosenberger founded “Coro” in New York in the 19th century. By the mid-1920s, the company had been already the largest producer of jewelry on the continent. Exquisite jewelry, created in all price categories, decorations ranged from everyday wear to very expensive exclusive copies. Coro stopped producing jewelry in 1979. Brooch measures approximately 2.75 inches long by 1.4 inches wide (at widest points). In good condition. Stone is present & intact. There is some slight discoloration/tarnishing to metal, but overall accents the look and does not take away from the beauty of the item.
